Perhaps in the near future he will have listed the issue and how to manually fix it, but, rest assured, it actually IS NOT THE DEVELOPERS FAULT, for once. He does not want users to undertake an endeavour which may or may not mess up the computer permanently, which leads me to the point.

I am merely forwarding the message of another user who has identified the issue, but is unable to rectify it for the general public as a result of the EXTENSIVE difficulty of manual repairs. It is largely a result of certain Win8 updates modifying or corrupting necessary files needed to get X-Trap to function.Ī proper dissection of the before and after logs of the systems would show the impending issue, but I am no man of technical skills.
Lost saga forums windows 8.1#
Windows 8.1 (specifically 64-bit) is known to cause issues with Lost Saga in terms of compatibility. They're not the best, but not the worst either. On a side note, I highly doubt this anything to do with my hardware considering they well surpass the recommended. If there's any feedback on how I can resolve the issue or when it will be resolved, it will much be appreciated. Screenshot: This had never been an issue to me before I had performed the restore on my PC, and I'm confused as to why this is happening now, and why this has not been resolved yet considering I've seen posts regarding this issue that people posted months ago. Another thing I should mention though, whenever I open the Lost Saga launcher, right as the game is about to launch an X-TRAP error message shows regarding components of the OS being corrupt and SYSTEM32\d3d9.dll.

I tried re-installing the game multiple times, disabled any other software that could interfere, etc. Now, the moment I open the game it will crash within 5~10 seconds and just send me back to my desktop with no error or notice. But when I did still have the issue back then, the game was atleast playable.

Which I eventually resolved by having heard somewhere that if you disable the Steam overlay option while in-game it would resolve the problem, and it did. Now one thing I should mention, I did have problems with the game crashing on me before I had performed the restore, which would involve the game randomly crashing in a time span between 5~30 minutes from the time I launched the game. I was running Windows 8.1 with no alterations having been made ever since, meaning everything is still exactly the same as it had been when the game did work. What I don't know is why before I did the restore on my computer, Lost Saga worked perfectly fine. Now as I had mentioned before, I'm aware that there's some sort of compatibility issue with Lost Saga on Windows 8/8.1 machines. Of course, I then re-installed my software, upgraded to Windows 8.1, drivers, updates, etc. So just recently I restored my computer and reinstalled the OS (Windows 8) since I had been in the mood for a fresh new start. Note to editors: Screenshots and video from Lost Saga are available on the MMPR ftp site ( ), inside the OGPlanet folder.First I want to say, I am aware that there's other people having this issue due to incompatibility with Windows 8/8.1.
